The path along which your garden dreams are turned into reality follows this typical route:
Step 1: Initial meeting with you in your garden.
This is where I familiarise myself with your existing garden and its immediate surroundings. We will also discuss your interests, requirements and desires for how your new garden will look and be used. I will develop a formal brief following this meeting which, once approved, will guide the process of creating your garden.
Step 2: Survey and analysis and production of outline design.
I will then collate all relevant objective data (site conditions, any planning issues, local materials, etc.) and, if required, survey the site and produce a topographical plan. Following a detailed analysis of the assembled facts, I develop formal design concepts and incorporated these into an outline plan, supported by mood boards and 3D imagery.
Step 3: Creating the Masterplan.
Once the design is agreed, I draw-up detailed plans and sections for planting and construction which will form your garden Masterplan. This will be used to guide all the work involved in bringing the design to life, including planting, hard landscaping and, where applicable, supporting planning applications.
Step 4: Appointment of contractors and ordering plants.
Contractors for landscaping and planting can now be appointed, usually following a formal tender process. Implementation time scales can then be established and plants ordered from chosen suppliers.
Step 5: Construction and planting.
Attention to detail and maintaining high standards are paramount throughout the creation of your garden. In support of this I can provide full project management or simply an advisory service if you would like to manage the garden build yourself.
Garden Maintenance Plan.
A key part of maximising enjoyment of your new garden will be ensuring the right care and maintenance, whether you undertake this yourself or employ gardeners. To make this as easy as possible, I can also provide you with a full garden maintenance plan with specific advice on how to care for all the plants used all year round.
